 Shagbark is a private gated community comprised of nearly 1,300 acres of spectacular, mountainous woodlands in the rolling foothills of the Smoky Mountains between Pigeon Forge and Wears Valley and, by extension, Gatlinburg and Townsend TN. It's only a short scenic drive from Shagbark through gorgeous rural Appalachia and you can easily get to Dollywood, WonderWorks, the Pigeon Forge Malls, The Titanic Museum, the Ripley's Aquarium, the Arts and Crafts Community of Gatlinburg, Cades Cove, and many more. It will feel like a complete day trip but it won't take as long. You can get to many of these attractions in under an hour from our affordable, luxury cabins.
 In Wears Valley, Wild turkey wander the meadow and hillsides. Squirrels, raccoon, ‘possum, deer and bear are often seen in the woods. Spring is enhanced by our hillsides of flowering shrubs and trees. Wildflowers peak through the fallen leaves to delight the hiker. Fall colors sweep throughout the community in vibrant reds, oranges and yellows.
Once inside Shagbark you will find miles of scenic spots like the meadow along Clear Fork Creek where you can fly kites, chip golf balls or enjoy a family picnic or a peaceful hike. Magnificent views across Shagbark can be seen from our cabins show casing beautiful Tennessee sunsets, sunrises and spectacular rolling mountain scenes.
